Aluminum vs Steel Pop-Up Tent Frame: Which is the better choice?

As mentioned in previous posts, choosing the right pop-up canopy can be a very intimidating and time consuming process.  The consumer must decide on the size, the frame type, the frame material, the canopy color(s), the design, the anchor options, the transportation options, and the list goes on and on.  Here at Celina Tent, we offer two different frame material options for consumers looking to get a pop-up tent - an aluminum frame and a steel frame.  Both frames can be used for the Fast Shade pop-up tent and the Fast Shade Pronto pop-up tent.

The lightweight, powder-coated steel frames have a hammer-tone textured finish, and square legs that adjust to five different settings from 5’10” to 7’1”.  Each peak pole has a thickness of 1” as well as convenient thumb release buttons on the legs.  Steel frames are available in 5x5, 10x10, 10x15, and 10x20 sizes, and are designed to fold up and expand quickly and easily.  The frames come with steel pins and tie down ropes.

The heavy duty 40mm aluminum frames have extruded hexagon legs that adjust to five different settings from 5’10” to 7’1”.  The peak pole has a thickness of 1”, as well as convenient thumb release buttons on the legs.  Available in 10x10, 10x15, and 10x20 sizes, the aluminum frame folds up and expands quickly and easily.  These frames come with steel pins and tie down ropes.

Both the steel and aluminum frame are highly corrosion resistant and exhibit sufficient strength for the task, though the most popular option by far is the aluminum frame.  The aluminum frame weighs less than the steel frame, making it easier to transport from place to place.  With the extruded hexagon legs, the aluminum frame is stronger and heavier duty than the steel frame.  However, the steel frame is less expensive than the aluminum frame.
